US Muslim Captain falsly charged and released

Friday 28 November 2003

On November 25th, the US military authorities released US Army Captain James J Yee from the Guantanamo territory prison. Captain Yee is a Muslim American, and was accused of espionage. When the charges were found to be totally erroneous, The US found nothing better to do than go deeper and accuse him of adultery and keeping pornography in his desk. Finally, they could do nothing else but let him go free, with his reputation and his career in the US army severely damaged.

More than a century ago the French army falsly accused one of its captains of spying for Germany. Captain Dreyfus was proven innocent but had his career and honor destroyed simply because he was Jewish.

This links with the attack on US Marines of Muslim confession on the Eve of the US invasion in Iraq in May 2003, when a fanatic US soldier threw a grenade in a tent of his own fellow soldiers, because they were Muslim. Lets just hope this recent act of discrimination by the US military authorities does not encourage too many American Patriots to assassinate more "ennemies of the state".
