Mike Patton just never gets tired. After his work with Dan the Automator, with John Zorn and with the Melvins... With the amount of time taken up by Mr. Bungle, Tomahawk and Fantomās, he just happened to work it out with the Dillinger Escape Plan. "Irony is a Dead Scene" is their new baby.
The inexhaustable Mike Patton is back again with his screwed up vocals. The Dillinger Escape Plan (authors of the acclaimed "Calculating Infinity" a little earlier in 2002) must realise the extent of the gesture made here by Patton. His contributions should really be valued greatly and to benefit from his help in songwriting, from his keys, samples and twisted vocals is a god send. This four track record is one of the best pieces of musical material available at the moment and a real little treasure. In particular, the cover of Aphex Twin’s "Come to Daddy" is brilliant.
